  • The History:

The brand’s origins began with the partnership in 1856 between Dr. Joseph Girard and Urs Schild.  They started a watch movement factory in Grenchen, which produced semi-finished and fully finished movements and innovated the production process by developing automatic manufacturing machines that could be powered by natural stream water and steam engines.  The company’s first fully-produced timepiece was released in 1876, with innovative timepieces following, such as the first series-production alarm wristwatch in 1914.

  • The Watch:

The Eterna-Matic 3003 Ref 664.4004.41 features a 44mm width case with a lug-to-lug measurement of 39.5mm. The stainless steel rectangle case has rounded corners, known as a “TV” shape case
with a snap-in case back.  The dial features a silver sunburst pattern with a railroad track-style minute track, applied metallic hour markers at the quarter hours, and a date window at the 3 o’clock position.  The 3003 is powered by the Eterna-Matic Caliber 1504K 21-jewel automatic movement.
