The Squale 1521 Blue Blasted Leather is part of the iconic Squale collection, which takes its name from the original production reference that Charles Von Büren gave to this case back in the 1960s. To this day, it has remained faithful to the original. It was designed and built by Charles Von Büren when diving watches began to appear, with its 50 atm of pressure resistance guaranteeing all underwater exploration enthusiasts peace of mind.

  • The History:

Established in 1950 by Charles and Hellene Von Büren, the Von Büren SA Watch Factory was built in Neuchâtel, Switzerland.  Drawing inspiration from their shared passion for diving and water sports, Von Büren’s focus
was to design timepieces that could handle sub-aquatic environments, a field of watchmaking that had yet to be explored.

  • The Watch:

The Squale 1521 Blue Blasted Leather features a bead-blasted 42mm stainless steel case with a flat sapphire crystal and a unidirectional rotating bezel with a blue aluminum insert.  The blue dial features printed, lumed indexes, white hour and seconds hands, an orange minutes hand, and a date window at the 3 o’clock position.  Powered by Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement, the Squale 1521 has a 38-hour power reserve and is water resistance rated to 500 meters.
