One of the most iconic Rolex timepieces ever produced, the Daytona has a rich history and ranks among the most famous luxury timepieces in the world.  The Stainless Steel Ref 116520 was the first Daytona produced with an in-house movement, the automatic Caliber 4130.  In production from 2000 to 2016, the Daytona Ref 116520 showcased Rolex’s incredible engineering and ingenuity by producing a movement that runs at a frequency of 4Hz and provides a 72-hour power reserve, with chronograph functions, which is still in production today. This timepiece is a rare variant of the 116520 family. Produced approximately between 2011 and 2014, this version is known by collectors as the "APH Daytona" or “Error Dial” due to the pronounced gap between the ‘R’ and ‘APH’ in the word 'Cosmograph' on the dial.

The History:

The Rolex brand needs no introduction.  Founded in 1905 by Hans Wilsdorf and his brother-in-law, Alfred Davis, these visionary men set out to do what had not been successfully and reliably done before.  Build a

The Watch:

The Daytona Ref 116520 features a 40mm 904L Stainless Steel case with a sapphire crystal.  The fixed bezel is stainless steel with a stamped tachymeter scale.  There are three sub-dials at the 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions, along with white gold lumed hour markers, white gold lumed hour and minute hands, a white gold chronograph hand, and a white gold
Rolex coronet at the 12 o’clock position.  The Daytona text in red sits above the sub-dial at the 6 o’clock position.  Powered by the in-house Caliber 4130 movement, the 116520 features a 72-hour power reserve and a water resistance rating of 100 meters.  

The Details:

This is a one-owner, new to the market, full set “APH” dial Daytona. Included with this timepiece are the outer and inner boxes, the original purchase receipt, the warranty card, the warranty booklet, the owner's manual, the factory service booklet, the certificate holder, and the original Oyster bracelet.
