Panerai Radiomir California 1936 PAM 249, Full Set

Beginning in 1860, Guido Panerai & Figlio in Florence, Italy, began producing high-precision instruments built for the Royal Italian Navy.  In 1938, as Officine Panerai, they started making wristwatches for the Italian Navy Commandos, with the Radiomir and Luminor.  It wasn’t until 1993 that they began to produce versions of the Radiomir, as well as the Luminor, for sale to the public internationally.

The Panerai Radiomir PAM 249 features a 47 mm polished stainless steel case with a plexiglas crystal and an exhibition case back.  The matte black dial features an outer minute track,  Roman numerals from the 9 to 3 o’clock positions, and Arabic numerals from the 3 to 9 o’clock positions.  The numerals and hour markers are lumed with a cream-colored Luminova, giving the dial a vintage aesthetic.  The hour and minute hands are blued and filled with Luminova.  Powered by a hand-wound Caliber OP X movement, with a 56-hour power reserve and a 30-meter water resistance rating.  

This full set Panerai Radiomir PAM 249 is number 1841 of 1936 produced. Included with this timepiece are the outer and inner boxes, the wood Panerai display case, the warranty card, the numbered limited edition certificate, the serial numbers stickers sheet, the guarantee booklet, the special editions operating instructions booklet, the black leather Officine Panerai booklet holder, the hardback Panerai Legendary Watches booklet, the additional plexiglas crystal with case, and the original brown leather Panerai strap with stainless steel buckle.
