The History:

Montblanc’s watchmaking history began in 1858 under Charles-Yvan Robert in Switzerland as Minerva. This watch company would quickly become one of the leading watchmakers for professional timepieces worldwide, known for its precision chronometry.  In 2006, Richemont Group acquired Minerva and made it a subsidiary of Montblanc as the primary production
manufacturer for Montblanc timepieces.

The Watch:

The Montblanc 1858 Chronograph features a 42mm stainless steel case with a fixed bezel, a highly domed sapphire crystal, and a solid case back with a detailed Mont Blanc mountain range and compass rose relief.  The matte black bi-compax dial features large sub-dials at the 3 and 9 o’clock positions, large Arabic numerals, and cathedral-style hands.  The 1858 Chronograph is powered by an automatic Sellita SW 500 movement with a 48-hour power reserve.

The Details:

This Montblanc 1858 Chronograph includes an aftermarket brown leather strap with a stainless steel buckle.  Some wear is present, which is visible in the photographs.
