About This Watch:
The Panerai Luminor Marina PAM 312 is a stunner with its brushed stainless steel case, polished bezel, and classic Panerai styling, featuring a black sandwich dial, sapphire crystal exhibition back, and a 3-day power reserve. Its in-house Calibre P.9000 movement has a quick set hour mechanism that allows you to set both the hour and date without stopping the movement. The History: Beginning in 1860, Guido Panerai & Figlio in Florence, Italy, began producing high-precision instruments built for the Royal Italian Navy. In 1938, as Officine Panerai, they started producing wristwatches for the Italian Navy Commandos, with the Radiomir and the Luminor. It wasn’t until 1993 that they began to create versions of the Radiomir and the Luminor for international sale to the public.
The Watch: The Panerai PAM 312 has a 44mm stainless steel case. The watch is powered by one of Panerai’s first in-house movements, the Calibre P.9000, which is visible through the sapphire crystal exhibition case back. The black dial is the characteristic Panerai sandwich-type dial, with the top black top plate with perforations for the numerals and hour markers exposing the bottom Luminova-coated plate. There are numerals at the 12, 6, and 9 o’clock positions, respectively, as well as the date at 3 o’clock and the small seconds dial next to the 9 o’clock.
The Details: This Panerai Luminor Marina 1950 3 Days PAM 312 is in good condition, with some wear on the case and lugs visible in the photographs. This timepiece includes the Panerai wood watch box, instruction booklet, strap changing tools, brown Panerai alligator leather strap with the Panerai stainless steel deployant clasp, and an additional Panerai black leather strap.
