  • The History:

Bulova was founded in 1879 by Joseph Bulova, an expat from the Czech Republic who came to America in 1860 at the age of 9.  The brand quickly gained recognition for its innovative and quality timepieces. Upon opening a factory in Bienne, Switzerland, in 1912, Bulova continued to push the envelope in technological advances and brand recognition, becoming the first watch brand to advertise on the radio in 1923 and later the first on television in 1941.

  • The Watch:

The Bulova Chronograph Ref 31000 features a 37mm stainless steel cushion-style case with sunburst pattern brushing and an acrylic crystal.  The blue dial features a sunburst pattern with white subdials at the 3 and 9 o’clock positions, a tachymeter scale at the outer edge, applied hour markers, and baton-style hands.  The Ref 31000 is powered by a manual wind Valjoux 7733 movement with 17 jewels.

  • The Details:

This Vintage Bulova Chronograph Ref 31000 includes an aftermarket brown leather strap with navy stitching and a stainless steel buckle. Wear consistent with a timepiece of this age is present and visible in the photographs.
