About This Watch:
The Seiko Kakume gets its name from the square-shaped sub-dials, as the Japanese translation for “kakume” is “square eyes.” The watch was designed as an automatic with a quickset for the day and date features, which was uncommon for early Seiko timepieces. The Watch: The Seiko Kakume 6138-0030 has a unique dial that features two square sub-dials at the 12 and 6 o’clock positions, along with a Kanji day window and a date window at the 3 o’clock position. The stainless steel 43mm case features an Hardlex crystal and a fixed tachymeter bezel. Powered by the in-house Seiko 6138 chronograph movement, the Kakume has a gold-colored dial with an outer orange accent ring, an orange chronograph hand, and orange hands on the sub-dials.
The Details: This Vintage Seiko Kakume 6138-0030 is in good condition. There are some scratches on the crystal, and some wear on the case, case back, and lugs that are consistent with a timepiece of this age. This timepiece includes an aftermarket black leather rally-style strap with orange stitching and a stainless steel tang buckle.
