The LeJour Flygraph was produced by Yema in France for the American market during the 1970s. Powered by a Valjoux 7736 Chronograph movement, it had an unusual case shape, measuring 46.5mm lug to lug and 40.5 mm wide. An excellent example of the playful and creative design aesthetics of sports watches from this era, the LeJour Flygraph is an eye-catching piece.

The History:

The LeJour Watch brand came to fruition in the 1960s as a distributor for Heuer in Europe and produced many timepieces for sporting enthusiasts, most notably the Pasadena.  Production under the Yema brand included the Yachtingraf, one of the most well-known regatta timers.  

The Watch:

The LeJour Flygraf features a 40.5mm x 46.5mm stainless steel case with a domed plexiglas crystal and a two-piece aluminum rotating bezel.  The dial is matte black with three sub-dials, chronograph functions, and
tritium lume on the hour markers and hands.  The Flygraf is powered by the manual wind Valjoux 7736 movement.

The Details:

This LeJour Flygraf has sharp case lines present, with wear that is consistent with a timepiece of this age and visible in the photographs. Included with this piece is an aftermarket leather NATO strap.
