The History:

Founded in 1868 by an American watchmaking pioneer, Florentine Ariosto Jones, the International Watch Company launched in Schaffhausen, Switzerland.  Nestled on the banks of the Rhine River, IWC’s factory began its pursuit of manufacturing watches of the highest quality, utilizing modern technology, as well as some of Switzerland’s most
talented watchmakers.  The Aquatimer was first introduced to the public at the Basel Fair in 1967 as one of the first true dive watches, with the independent setting of internal and external bezels.

The Watch:

The IWC Aquatimer Ref 3231 features a 44mm stainless steel case with an internal rotating bezel, a sapphire crystal, and an exhibition case back.  The black dial features lumed hour markers, lumed hour and minute hands, and a date window at the 3 o’clock position.  Powered by a Caliber 880111 automatic movement, the Aquatimer Ref 3231 has a 44-hour
power reserve and a water resistance rating of 12 bar.
