The Tudor 79190 Submariner stands as the last of the Tudor Submariner line. The 79190 was first released in the mid-1990s and shared many of the beloved stylings of the iconic Rolex Submariners with its own special Tudor touch.
Tudor began to produce watches in 1926, that could be marketed and manufactured as a more affordable timepiece than the Rolex line, while still keeping the same standard of dependability that Rolex had become known for. Over the years, the product line grew to include the renowned Oyster Prince, as well as their diver watches such as the Submariner series.
The Tudor 79190 Submariner has a stainless steel case, with a stainless steel 3-link Oyster style bracelet. It has a black dial and black bezel insert. The 79190 has a unidirectional bezel with a sapphire crystal, which was exclusive to the 79190 Submariner, as opposed to the more common submariner model, the 79090. There is a cyclops lens over the date window at the 3 o’clock position, as well as the Mercedes style hands. The Tudor 79190 also has the “T Swiss Made T’ marking on the dial above the 6 o’clock position indicating the tritium used for the lume on the hands and hour markers. It utilizes the ETA 2824-2 movement and is water-resistant to 200 meters.
This Tudor Submariner 79190 is in good condition. There are some light scratches on the bezel insert, the crystal has a small scratch, and there are slight wear marks on the case, as shown in the photographs. The watch has the correct Rolex crown as well as the Rolex Oyster case back. The bracelet is the correct model number and is dated to the watch.
