The History:
Founded in 1972 by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, son of the legendary automaker, Porsche Design was born out of a desire to design distinctive products following the Bauhaus philosophy, that form follows function. The first product released by Porsche Design was a timepiece known as the Chronograph I. The timepiece had a black case, dial, and bracelet, with white hour markers and hands, and a bright red sweeping seconds hand. It laid the foundation for future timepieces produced by Porsche Design, in collaboration with several watch manufacturers, including IWC from 1978 to 1997.
The Watch:
The Ref 3704 has a 42mm Titanium case with a sapphire crystal. Powered by an automatic Calibre 790 movement, the 3704 has a water resistance rating of 60 meters. The bracelet for the 3704 is also titanium and is integrated into the case, with the clasp bearing the Porsche Design logo.
The Details:
This IWC Porsche Design Titanium Ref 3704 is in good condition. There is some slight wear on the case and bracelet, consistent with a timepiece of this age, which is visible in the photographs. The crystal is in very good condition. This Ref 3704 has the German date wheel. This listing is for the watch and bracelet only.
