• Beginning in 1860, Guido Panerai & Figlio began producing high-precision instruments built for the Royal Italian Navy in Florence, Italy.  In 1938, as Officine Panerai they began producing wristwatches for the Italian Navy Commandos, with the Radiomir and later the Luminor.  It wasn’t until 1993 that they began to produce versions of the Radiomir, as well as the Luminor, for sale to the public internationally.
  

The Panerai Luminor Base 8-Days Acciaio PAM 561 features a polished 44mm stainless steel case with a brushed crown guard, a sapphire crystal, and an exhibition case back.  The white dial features black Arabic numerals, with lume plots at the hour markers and pencil-shaped lumed hour and minute hands.  The in-house manual wind Caliber P.5000 movement powers the PAM 561 with an 8-day power reserve.  

This Panerai Luminor PAM 561 is a one-owner timepiece with the original sales receipt. The case shows some wear, as visible in the photographs. This timepiece includes both outer boxes, the inner box,
the certificates booklet, the instruction manual, the strap-changing tool, a rubber bezel protector, a black Panerai rubber strap, and a black leather Panerai strap with a stainless steel Panerai buckle.
